Welcome (back) to the 4th Annual New Year - New Language Summit!

Wow!
When I hosted the inaugural New Year - New Language Summit all the way back in 2022, I never imagined it would become this big of a hit. I figured we'd just have a fun little conference for a few hundred passionate language learners and that would be it.
But, over the last few years thousands of people have been participating in the yearly event. And I get tons of emails from people sharing how much they appreciate the event, and look forward to the next one.
With the previous 3 instalments going through the Beginner, Intermediate, and Advanced levels of language learning as a main theme, I had to be a bit more creative with the theme for this 4th one.
Beyond Advanced is, after all, a bit too extreme for a conference like this.
So, I came up with the theme of "Consistency" which could be interpreted to mean how to keep going with your language studies as well. Whether that's beyond the beginner level, or indeed, beyond the advanced level, I figured that it would be helpful to some people.
Because you see, the one, and perhaps only, predictor of language learning success is whether or not you're able to keep going with it. We can all grab a new course on a deal, or load up a new language learning app and use these resources for a couple of days, maybe even a few weeks, but it takes a special kind of commitment to keep going for months, and ultimately years, to reach the point we wish to reach.
And actually, if the sole outcome of New Year - New Language was that people, generally, kept going to a much greater degree, it would have done its job beautifully. As it happens, we have lots of other great sessions and presentations covering a wide range of language learning topics, so we're sure to hit a wide range of learners with this event.
Steady is, after all, just a theme. The wisdom and techniques of the presenters go far beyond that, it's showcasing a way of life, and can save a language learner years of frustrations.
